San Antonio BYU Alumni Chapter Chair

It has been my pleasure to be the San Antonio BYU Alumni chapter chair since 2016.  We've accomplished a lot since then.  So many great memories with all of you.  It is now time to start looking for the next chapter chair elect as the alumni association asks that the length of time serving is 2 - 4 years.

As the chapter chair elect, I will work with you to make sure you get the training you need to be successful before taking on the full responsibility.  The Alumni association provides training opportunities quarterly over the Internet and once a year in Provo for the Alumni conference.  This year the conference is in October.  Absolutely wonderful opportunity to return to BYU and receive valuable training on how to support our local chapter.

This is a great opportunity to work with wonderful people for a wonderful cause.  Below are the expectations and requirements for the chapter chair responsibility.  Please consider this opportunity to give back.

Please let me know if you have questions or would like to know more.

Sincerely,

Mark Walker

BYU Wind Symphony

editedwind-symphony-banner.jpg

We are in the beginning phases of planning for the BYU Wind Symphony to come to San Antonio in early May 2019.  We're super excited to host a BYU performing group. This is a great opportunity to bring the goodness of BYU to the Alamo City.

With all good things, there is a bit of work to do before they get here.  We need help in the following areas:

  • Finding a venue for the performance
  • Promoting the performance (BYU will be sending us posters and flyers)
  • Ticket sales
  • Accommodations for 52 students in groups of 2 or more.  Typically this is done through host families.
  • Catered meal the night of the performance

We'll need some additional volunteers as we get closer to the event. Are you interested in helping out? Know anyone that would be interested? Comment below or PM a member of the San Antonio Chapter board. Travis Buhler from the board will be coordinating the volunteers.
